My first stop was Victoria Harbour, the heart of Hong Kong. I walked along the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, where the iconic skyline of Hong Kong Island stretched out before me— towering buildings like the International Commerce Centre and the Bank of China Tower stood side by side, a testament to the city’s status as a global financial hub. As evening fell, I joined the crowds to watch the Symphony of Lights, a spectacular light and sound show that lit up the harbour. The colorful lights, synchronized music, and the reflection on the water created a magical atmosphere. After the show, I wandered into a nearby cha chaan teng (Hong Kong-style tea restaurant) and tried my first Hong Kong snack— pineapple bun with butter, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, paired with a cup of hot milk tea. It was the perfect introduction to Hong Kong’s culinary culture.
